Random Verse — More Languages Added

Update Released

Version 0.7.7116-Beta
Get it on Google Play

This app has been published exclusively to the Google Play Store. Do not trust copies from third parties.

Change Log

  • Added a couple Bible versions requested by users:
  • Added a few popular Bible versions based on the default language of app users (Demographics provided by the Google Play Store, as they do for every single app on the Play Store. The Random Verse app doesn't track any users through the app.):
  • Note that currently the only version the app displays books from or chooses random verses from is the King James Version (KJV). Meaning if you select a different language or version you will still see the KJV book names and KJV references. However; if you tap the verse reference it should try to open the verse in your selected language or version. For now this will cause issues if the verse in the KJV does not match up to a verse in your selected version.

Road Map

  • Stop converting between versions
Redesigning so that it no longer picks random verses from only the King James Version. Currently it picks those then tries to convert those to other Bible versions. Instead it needs to randomly pick from the other versions directly. In doing that, all selected verses will work and even the book names will appear as they do in those other versions.

  • More Bible versions and languages
If you use this app and would like a specific Bible version added please find it on this page of Bible versions and contact me through the app to let me know. No promises, but I'll see what I can do.

  • Recent History
I want to keep a small recent history list so that users can easily go back to verses they have gone to before from the app.

  • Widget
Add widget with an occasionally changing verse reference.

  • Other Bible Apps
Ability to open verses with many other popular Bible apps, currently it always opens in the most popular Bible app.

  • Watch
Would love to get this running on an Android watch someday.
