What's New (in version 0.0.9)
- Now the first time you open the app you will play through a few very simple levels to learn how the game works. There are three levels and then once you beat those the rest of the app opens up so that you can play one or two player games.
- Hopefully during the onboarding mode the player will learn to tap on walls to claim them and that closing in the last wall of any tile gives ownership of that tile to whoever closed it in. Also any time a player closes in one tile to own it he/she gets a free turn to play again.
Android 5.1 and higher
- Devices running these versions of android should receive this app update as soon as it is approved for release in the Play Store and begins a rollout to all devices.
Android versions 5.0 and lower
- Devices running these versions of android will not see an available version of the app in the Play Store. If they already have an older version of the app installed it will remain playable but if uninstalled the app may be lost until a newer version of android is used. Both Unity and the Play Store are constantly requiring newer and newer versions of android and as such older versions are no longer supported. Upgrade your version of android to get access to this app. As of today 98.4% of all active android devices in the world run versions newer than this. As for this app specifically all current users are running newer versions of android than this.
Road Map
- Onboarding Tutorial: ✔️
Idea: Start the app with one tile and let the player learn the game mechanics before opening up to the full app.
Status: Added in version 0.0.9 - Difficulty Levels:
Idea: Selectable difficulty levels for the AI computer player.
Status: Started but not yet implemented. - Menu Options:
Idea: Options to contact the developer, rate the app, and view this developer blog.
Status: Not started. - Player Statistics:
Idea: Would like to log and show some historical data such as how many games played and won.
Status: Not started. - More Levels:
Idea: Currently after the three simple tutor levels there is only one level layout. Would like to a several different level layouts and allow the player to choose which one to play.
Status: Not started. - More Players:
Idea: Current modes are one player and two players. Would like to add options for playing up to four players or any combination of human and computer players.
Status: Not started. - More Colors:
Idea: Currently player one is always red and player two or the computer player is always blue. Would like to add several colors in addition to these and allow the players to choose which colors they would like to play with.
Status: Not started. - Matches:
Idea: Right now you play one layer, but with "matches" more layers will be stacked on top to form a 3D almost pyramid type of shape. The first layer becomes the base and each layer stacked on top gets smaller as the match is played. Each time you finish one layer a new layer will start but only the tiles from the winning player will advance to the next level of the match. Those tiles will then be playable by anyone. Players can win layers and can win the whole match. The match will end as soon as one player owns the entire layer.
